FEYNLAB® BLACK VELVET TIRE SEALANT

FEYNLAB® BLACK VELVET TIRE SEALANT is a super durable tire protection and shine, meant to keep your tires protected and looking like they were dressed for up to 6 months.

This product is the longest lasting tire protectant for the DIY market offered by FEYNLAB. Expect longer durability than FEYNLAB ALL PURPOSE DRESSING.

FEYNLAB® BLACK VELVET TIRE SEALANT is a revolutionary product for the detailing and DIY markets. We intentionally chose the name “sealant” rather than “dressing” as it is like nothing else on the market in terms of durability and function.

FEYNLAB® BLACK VELVET TIRE SEALANT is a water based quick-drying film that forms a continuous flexible film, much like the plasticizer used in the manufacturing of the tires themselves. This flexible film imparts a finish that is chemically inert against the deleterious effects of harsh weather and driving conditions, ozone, UV and other environmental causes of degradation of the synthetic and natural rubber of the tire.

Unlike most solvent based silicone dressings, that sit on the surface of the tire and inevitably sling from the tire to the vehicle’s bodywork, FEYNLAB® BLACK VELVET TIRE SEALANT’s durable yet inherently flexible latex reacts to form an incredibly adherent micro-coating on the tire’s sidewalls. Our proprietary formulation penetrates the pores of the tire wall and anchors the latex film for crazy durability and a sling-free finish. The black pigmentation contained within the formula leaves tires with a deep rich black look.

FEYNLAB® BLACK VELVET TIRE SEALANT may also be applied in multiple layers to fine tune the desired level of tire gloss. Gloss levels can range from a satin “like new” to a “very shiny” finish, making it one of the most versatile tire products on the market!

 Durability, Warranty & Specs

With regular maintenance washes, using FEYNLAB® PURE WASH OR FEYNLAB® PURE RINSELESS, you can expect up to 6 months of durability. This will range from 2 – 6 months depending on extreme weather, driving, and cleaning conditions.

Cautions

• Always wear respirator & gloves during application. Ensure the application area is free of loose contamination.
• FEYNLAB® BLACK VELVET TIRE SEALANT may stain wheels, Make sure to wipe off accidental contact to surfaces immediately after application.
• FEYNLAB® BLACK VELVET TIRE SEALANT will stain flooring. Place a tarp or cardboard beneath tires to protect floors.

Prepping the Tire

Thoroughly clean the tires using FEYNLAB® TIRE & WHEEL CLEANER to remove any previously applied silicone products. Allow the tire to completely dry before applying FEYNLAB® BLACK VELVET TIRE SEALANT. 

Directions

1. If this is your first time applying FEYNLAB® BLACK VELVET TIRE SEALANT to the tires, we suggest 2 coats as the first will be slightly absorbed into the pores of the tire (a desired effect).
2. Using a microfiber or foam applicator, apply a generous amount of FEYNLAB® BLACK VELVET TIRE SEALANT onto the applicator.
3. First Coat: work the sealant into the pores of the rubber, making your way around the tire applying evenly, being careful not to touch the wheel. If you accidentally get product on the wheel, quickly remove using a microfiber towel and FEYNLAB® PANEL PREP before BLACK VELVET TIRE SEALANT has a chance to set up.
4. Second Coat: Wait a few minutes before applying your second coat. Apply layer 2 evenly, in long lines covering around 1/4 of the tire. Continue this process until the tire is evenly covered in BLACK VELVET TIRE SEALANT.
5. Continue your way around the vehicle covering all 4 tires (don’t forget the spare). Allow 10 minutes drying time before driving the vehicle.
6. After the initial application, BLACK VELVET TIRE SEALANT can be used as an easy maintenance product. Simply reapply to the tire once the desired level of gloss has faded from tires. This is usually every few months (depending on conditions). To apply maintenance layers, simply wash the tire with FEYNLAB® PURE WASH OR PURE RINSELESS using a soft bristle brush. After the tire has dried, apply another coat of BLACK VELVET TIRE SEALANT following steps 4 & 5 above.

Post Application Instructions

To avoid sling and runs, allow at least 10 minutes for the product to dry before driving the vehicle.

Wash & Maintain using FEYNLAB® PURE WASH or FEYNLAB® PURE RINSELESS.

Reapply a single layer as desired or when necessary.

To clean tires coated with BLACK VELVET TIRE SEALANT:

• Wash with FEYNLAB PURE WASH or FEYNLAB PURE RINSELESS using a soft bristled brush or microfiber towel
• DO NOT use FEYNLAB WHEEL & TIRE CLEANER as the chemicals in that product will prematurely degrade the BLACK VELVET TIRE SEALANT
• DO NOT aggressively scrub with a hard-bristled brush or any other highly abrasive tool as that will prematurely degrade the BLACK VELVET TIRE SEALANT
